Although my home is and always has been in Northern California. Right off the shore of Long Beach, apart of the Channel Islands, is a small island that feels just like home. The one city on the island, just 2 miles long, is home to 12 of my aunts and uncles. Every year in. the first weekend of August we all get together on the island, all 12 aunts and uncles and their kids and grandkids and we clebrate with a huge family reunion. We've been doing this celebration since before I was born and I love it. There's always so many people and its so great to see my family. There's a few traditions we always have. My family is very competitive so games are always a priory. We host volleyball championships, a golf tournament, basketball game, and games for the kids. The island means so much to me because it has such a huge significance in my life. It truly is my home away from home.
